When I was 7 or 8 years old my mom made me the most spectacular purple sequin rocker vest for Halloween. I LOVED that vest!!! Unfortunately, the years went on and I grew out of it. My mom donated it to a thrift store along with other things from my childhood. I didn't realize at the time how much it would mean to me to still have it. Dimestore Diamond (Album Version)

Dimestore Diamond by Gossip was the runway song I chose for Rubbish to Runway. Fitting don't you think?

Here are a couple pictures I took before the Rubbish to Runway Fashion show and during rehearsal. Thank you to all of you that came!

The blouse is made from an old pair of knit pants. I flipped the pants and cut open the inseam for the neckline. I then used all the access length to create the drapey neckline and sleeves. The skirt is several layers of Women's Wear Daily newspaper that I sewed together on a diagonal and then slashed to create a chenille effect. The necklace is from my current jewelry collection which is made from re-purposed chain, car parts, recycled leather and a raw gemstones.
