Rubbish to Runway is back for a second year and I am excited to be part of it. I am designing and creating one of the recycled garments and I’ll have a selection of my recycled handbags and jewelry for purchase. A portion of the sales will be going to Long Way Home, a non-profit organization that builds schools out of recycled materials for children in poverty stricken areas.

The recycled materials I am using for my outfit are a pair of 60’s knit pants and WWD newspapers. I really love how the skirt is turning out. I have created a chenille effect by sewing and slashing. My model will also be decked out in Megan Leone accessories made from recycled leather and re-purposed chain. I think you are going to love it.
