This necklace is the first from my new collection Raw which I will be releasing throughout the following months. I named the collection after the members of late ’70s all-girl rock band The Runaways. Their attitude and sexiness had a major influence. Much like the members of the band, this collection has a wild, edgy exterior with love and compassion underneath. I deconstruct and re-use pieces found at charity thrift stores and flea markets to create one of a kind eco-friendly accessories to make you stand out from the crowd.
The shape of the jewelry was inspired by creating a rock bracelet that would stay facing forward on the wrist. These steel ring car parts worked perfectly. The leather holding the ring is cut from re-purposed leather remnants. And the star of the jewelry, the rocks are sourced from local gem and mineral collectors. I am a sucker for anything sparkly, especially when it is natural!
